Shri Hariprasad avare: Two questions. First one, is there any web site or resource that not only gives the meaning of each of the words but may also provide a reference or cite an incident which explains why that name was attributed to the Supreme Lord?
Second, I was a bit surprised to see that you cited Shankaracharya’s commentary as a reference instead of a commentary from any of our noble saints in our Sampradaya. Was there a reason for doing so.

Such an effort may not be available even in written literature, let alone the web.
I wanted to name that section as “Other Commentaries” but ended up leaving out the word “Other”. Will update the same asap.

Very good and interesting effort Hari.
1) FYI, one other commentary which is very good is written by Shri Parashara Bhatta of Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya. It is Called “Bagavath Guna Darpana”. There is a Kannda translation of this book also.
2) There is also another work on the Web which tries to give meaning of each nama’s,as per Shankara Bhashya and Parashara Bhashbya. I will try and paste that link also for those who may be interested.
