Name: Sthavishtaha

Pronunciation:

stha-vi-sh-ta-ha

stha, vi (vi in victory), sh (sh in shape), ta (ta in tardy), ha (ha in hard)

Meaning:

One who is the biggest in the Universe

Notes:

Sthavishtaha comes from “Atishayena sthoolaha sthavishtaha” – that which is excessively big. Vishnu is bigger than anything else in the Universe. Anything that ‘holds’ another object must necessarily be bigger than the object being held. HE holds the entire cosmos within himself. Therefore, HE is the biggest in this Universe.

Namavali:

Om Sthavishtaaya Namaha Om
